ACross Country is currently run by seven trustees and several associated members. They come from very varied backgrounds and bring a diversity of experience and skills to the charity.
Simon Crook: “I am married to Sam and we have three lively children. I love ideas and adventure and avoid doing admin. I want an ACross Country experience to be like being welcomed into a loving, outward looking, provoking, warm, open family. I am Secretary for Across Country.”
Sam Crook: “I am Sam, Sam I am. I have a religious studies degree, and spent some time as a primary school teacher for 3-8s. I lived at Bekezela Adventure Farm in South Africa, with Simon my husband, for three years of community living; adventure camping; house keeping; decorating and renovating; one to one special needs teaching and parenting. Things were never the same again! Back in the UK we began the task of setting up an English version of our south African experience – ACross Country . Alongside ACross Country the children have kept me busy (we now have three) and I have re-trained as a counsellor. I love to dance, paint, and write a bit of poetry/lyrics/prayers when I’m not romping on a hillside with the family!”
Tina Minett Stevens: “I am an Anglican priest, and as an ex maths teacher am well qualified to be treasurer for Across Country. I like gentle countryside and cake.”
Jack Noble: Jack loves meeting people. He loves the outdoors, but is pretty useless once he’s in it. He is an Anglican Priest and is very excited about being a part of Across Country and the opportunity to meet himself, others and God through stillness and adventure.
Nore Beaumont: “Hi, I’m Lenore, like the fabric softener, but more commonly know some as Nore. I’m a retired teacher and I enjoy walking, music, dance and living in the village of Golcar.”
Abi Page: “I am an adventurer at heart, I love meeting new people, visiting new places and trying new things. I am a Speech and Language Therapist in London.”
